Paula and Charly’s engagement session at Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area was absolutely stunning! I first met Paula via my Facebook promotion post and learned that she recently got engaged in Paris! What a wonderful place to get engaged. Soon we start discussing our plans on how and when to do the engagement session with her fiancé Charly.
At the beginning I suggested Paula to find a small park for the engagement session. This is because I get to have more time to take pictures rather than walking to the location for each shot. When Paula suggested going to Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area I thought it would be challenging, but it turned out working out beautifully! Here are a few reasons:
- Paula and Charly came prepared! They brought their props and wore their attire long before our shoot. In fact Paula chose my good friend Mimi Kuang as her makeup artist. Nice choice Paula! That means we are ready to rock n roll as soon as they get off their car at the park!
- As the photographer I always scout out the place before each photoshoot. This is no exception. I learned that if I turn left I’ll go to the dock for some nice photographs by the lake. Then when I turn right I’ll go to the trees for a dramatic portrait for the couple.
- To make my photography stands out from others, I use flashes to bring out the subject. As you can see from the pictures below, almost all the shots were taken using a softbox. This is used to soften the lights for Paula and Charly and to mimic natural light. I need to make sure the flash blends into the natural light so it looks good on the pictures.
